Sorry, lead foots. Until 1999, Montana effectively had no speed limit, asking only that drivers be “reasonable and prudent” with their vehicles. But after a driver was ticketed for driving 90 mph, the state decided the law was too vague and imposed a limit of 75 mph on their highways.
