Internet for Your Car

Are we there yet?

If you’ve ever taken a road trip with your children, you’ve probably heard more than your fair share of that phrase.

But with mp3 players and portable DVD players, road trips no longer seem as long and mundane as the used to be. But with our addiction to the Internet, it can still be hard to go without surfing the web for numerous hours. Luckily, this may no longer be a problem.

On today’s Vehicle Vibes Radio show, host Marcia Hansen will talk to Christine Williams from Autonet Mobile about Internet for your car.

Autonet Mobile is a company that provides wireless capabilities for cars. The company built the first network for cars that allows Wi-Fi enabled devices to connect to the Internet at broadband speeds. The company has also partnered with auto manufactures like Chrysler Dodge, Jeep, Volkswagen and General Motors.

What does this mean for you?

If you have an iPod touch, a laptop, a net book or any Wi-Fi enabled device you can now surf the Web in the car. While this is exciting news for people who embark on long road trips or who are easily bored in the passenger seat, it may also potentially be a dangerous distraction for drivers if they begin to surf the Web while driving.

So tune in to Vehicle Vibes Radio and listen to Christine who can answer any questions you may have about getting Internet in your car. But remember, as a driver, it’s your responsibility to stay safe on the road. You should never surf the Web or use any type of Wi-Fi enabled device while you are driving. Always keep both hands and eyes on the road.
