The state of Utah is working towards a lofty goal: zero traffic fatalities.
According to the National Safety Council, traffic crashes are the leading cause of teen fatalities, accounting for 38% of all teen deaths in the United States.
Every year, nearly than 6000 people are killed in accidents because of a distracted or inattentive driver. But traffic fatalities are preventable. With minor changes in our driving behavior, we can prevent the deaths of thousands of people.
On this episode of Vehicle Vibes Radio, host Marcia Hansen will talk to Brent Wilhite from Utah’s Zero Fatalities program. Started by the Utah Department of Transportation, the Zero Fatalities program was formed with the goal of decreasing the number of deaths on Utah’s roadways. Their public outreach program hopes to educate drivers about the dangers of drowsy driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving and other bad driving habits.
