Have you ever driven through the countryside, only to be greeted by the nauseating smell of the nearby pig farm or mushroom fields? Well, with Nissan’s new air conditioning system, you may not have to suffer through the unbearable smell.
In late July, Nissan announced the development of the next generation air conditioning system called “Forest AC” which is designed to eliminate odors and recreate the climate, fragrance and natural breezes of a relaxing forest setting.
In addition to temperature control, the new Forest AC intermittently releases aromas of borneol and leaf alcohol to alleviate boredom and stimulate the driver’s brain. These scents are based off a study from Tokyo University of Science on the effects aroma on human mental activity. According to the study, Borneol, a compound made from Kapur wood, lavender and other essential oils promotes calm and focus while leaf alcohol, found in most plants, is thought to have a calming effect and reduce fatigue.
The new Forest AC also comes with the world’s first sensor system that is supposed to detect odors and opening and closing air vents to prevent unpleasant smells from entering the car.
This new air conditioning system will be released on the new Nissan Fuga which is scheduled to debut later this year.
Now you can drive through as many scenic country sides as you want, without the stench of cows and other farm animals wafting into your car!
